This is my "futuristic" archer.

The armor is a form-fitting suit that provides protection as well as mobility. Its protection is focused mainly on the torso, protecting the vital organs. There is less protection on the legs so the archer can move around with ease. Relocation is the key to stealth attacks.

The bow is the M105-Lancer II, a high power glove-mounted aluminum alloy bow that utilizes 8 hydraulic pistons (6 on the "inside" of the bow and 2 on the "outside") to fire the bow, increasing the precision and velocity for maximum effectiveness. It is 177cm tall and, if used correctly, can deliver a projectile at just under 600 fps at a maximum of 400 yards. Masters of the bow have been known to hit a target 10cm in diameter at 384 yards with precision sighting equipment. Rather than use the pulley system of the compound bow or the origional system for the Composite or Longbows, the M105 fires using only the hydraulic pistons. When the 6 on the "inside" of the bow retract, the 2 on the "outside" expand out (by means of buttons on the glove), the bow is set in a "drawn" position. Here the archer does not have to strain to hold the wire string in place while aiming. When fired, the pistons fling into the opposite position, pulling the wire taut and propelling the "arrow" downrange.

It can fire a 134cm long carbon-steel "arrow" for long distances as well as an 81cm "arrow" for shorter distances. The projectile pierces the target and passes completely through it leaving a hole for effective "blood-letting." (Provided the target is not killed from the initial piercing.) Both types are stored in the quiver worn by the archer. It is worn on the back but usually worn lower around the waist instead of further up near the shoulder blades. This provides maximum efficiency in retrieving the projectile, setting the bow and firing in one fluid motion.

The TH-45 semi-automatic pistol can fire 12 9mm rounds (full clip with one in the chamber.) Usually called "Hip-Huggers" by their wearers, the pistol is mounted on the thigh plates of the armor and swivels from aiming downward to aiming straight ahead and can be fired via control from the suit or detached and manually fired.

Whew.....that was fun. I need to do more like this.
